Getting into IITs requires a rank of around 8000 in JEE Advanced if you belong to a General category. Because as far as admissions of 2017 are concerned last rank to get into IIT was around 8000 for general category . But if you belong to reserved categories like OBC,SC,ST and PwD then you can make it to IITs with an ease.

For general category candidates hopes a still alive as they can get various government colleges like NITs,IIITs and state government colleges as admissions of these institutions are independent of your JEE Advanced score, they only consider JEE mains score for admissions. You can also go for private colleges if you want branches like CSE they will offer you a handsome discount in your program fees.
