This paper presents a method for detecting horizontal patterns in broad-cast arrays. The method is based on the assumption that the source of the signal is a single point source. The signals are received by a set of receivers which are arranged in a 2D array. The paper proposes a method to detect the presence of a horizontal pattern in the array. The method is based on the principle of maximum likelihood estimation and uses an iterative algorithm to find the maximum likelihood solution
